Council Fire

On the Friday night of each session, the entire camp lines up and walks down to the Council Fire Ring singing our Processional song. At this ceremony the staff and campers gather, and light the fire of Work, Health, and Love or WoHeLo. The Council Fire is a place for all to reflect on the week. Each camper is honored by their counselor by receiving a special handmade token to commemorate the week at camp. We tell stories of the fun and exciting things that happened throughout the week. We also make the sign of the fire, recite the Camp Fire Law, sing songs, and read nature poem’s. Some campers and staff may receive additional recognition for accomplishments such as passing their swimming level, outstanding performance in a class, or a special job they preformed.  We welcome camper’s family members and camp alumni to join us for our Council Fire.

Camp Niwana is owned and operated by Camp Fire Southeast Texas Council, Inc.
